Mark Kennedy confirms budget increase facilitated moves for quintet in final fortnight of transfer window

Swindon Town head coach Mark Kennedy has confirmed an injection of funds late in the transfer window allowed him to bolster his ranks.
The Moonraker reported on Saturday that Swindon's recruitment team had only been able to get several deals done in the final fortnight before deadline because the playing budget had seen a considerable increase, in proportion to where it previously stood.
That allowed for an improved offer to be made to Peterborough United for the loan of Kabongo Tshimanga, a revised approach to Carlisle United for Danny Butterworth, and the scope to bring in Gavin Kilkenny and George Cox on permanent contracts.
