Drawing historical comparisons to understand the present is massively fallible, but it is hard to ignore just how poorly the Robins have dealt with trips to Accrington over the years.
Saturday’s game was the 10th between the teams in the north west. Town have won two, and one of those came with the asterisk of an astonishing stoppage-time implosion which should have resulted in the most ridiculous of Stanley comebacks.
