It could have all been so very different.

A 2-2 draw at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday was, yet again, an example of Swindon Town mixing it with teams in the League Two promotion hunt.

They have taken five points out of a possible nine against this sort of side so far in March, remaining unbeaten throughout and reinforcing the feeling of “what if” that will forever hang around the neck of the 2024/25 campaign.
