There was no need to turn to a professional analyst to get a headline-level overview of what Swindon Town could expect at York City.
This was a team which won promotion out of the National League with a focus on possession and building from the back.
That they subsequently sacked one head coach with a strong attachment to that sort of football, only to replace him with another who has a neurological compulsion for the same style was a dead giveaway.
Swindon had to go to York, be relentless in their press, force their hosts’ leaky defence into mistakes, win the ball high, and give their prolific striker a sight of goal.
