Hands up, then. Who had Swindon Town at 9/1?
Town’s extraordinarily long odds prior to their EFL Trophy trip to Wycombe Wanderers reflected the reality of this season, but from a historical perspective seemed utterly warped.
Warped they proved to be, as Swindon – with both 11 men and with 10 – delivered again. Two games in a row. Two wins in a row. A cup fixture to look forward to beyond New Year’s Eve. Oh, that’s what a smile feels like.
And they say the Pizza Vans Cup is an irrelevance.
