Is two league games enough of a sample size to observe trends?
Scientifically, perhaps not. But there have been a handful of key markers over Swindon Town’s opening pair of League Two outings to suggest the sort of season we might just be in for over the coming nine months.
Across the first two matches of the new term, Swindon have averaged 25.5 attempted tackles per game - that’s very nearly 25 per cent more than any of their divisional rivals.
They have successfully completed 34 of those tackles, another league high, while they rank better than any other side for interceptions (25).
