Rochdale defeat conjures sense of inevitability about the future... but what exactly are we wishing for?

ANALYSIS: We are reaching the point of no return. Yet look at the series of results causing the uproar, and it is not a sequence that, at most other clubs in most other seasons, would cause supporters to call for their manager's head.

There is a sense of inevitability about it all now, isn't there?

Two days after declaring himself a dead man walking in the eyes of many Swindon Town supporters, Ian Holloway watched his team concede an 88th-minute goal to lose 1-0 at Rochdale.

It was the Robins' fourth consecutive away defeat this season, and they still have not scored on the road in League Two since Easter.
