Ian Holloway brings the chaos to the County Ground... now can Swindon bottle the feeling of that last-minute equaliser?

It was, particularly in the half-hour or so before the break, a pantomime of the absurd.

Is that the spark?

Had you accidentally teleported into the County Ground with a minute and 10 seconds left of Saturday’s game against Gillingham, you could have been forgiven for thinking Swindon Town had just secured promotion, such was the general outpouring around the stadium after Harry Smith’s late equaliser.

That back-post header, with a minute of second-half injury time remaining, drew wild scenes. Scenes that have not been witnessed in SN1 for quite some time. Scenes which gave a rare reminder of why we all do this football thing.

Earlier in the afternoon, Smith had been sharing angry words with supporters. By the full-time whistle, they were celebrating together. All had been forgiven. A shared purpose had been found.
