Swindon Town engage in self-sabotage after dominant first half at Bromley as rut threatens to become a trench
25.01.26, 11:11

The new year has not been kind to Swindon Town, but it’s hard to escape the feeling that so much of the bad news so far in 2026 has been self-inflicted.
After back-to-back defeats by Salford City, the missed chance of a trip to Manchester City, and a litany of EFL and FA charges, Town’s miserable fortnight was compounded by loss in the 89th minute at Bromley to slip to sixth in League Two.
There’s a familiar feeling slipping slowly through the club and fanbase right now. Part inevitability, part dread, it plays on the minds of a group of under-rewarded supporters who had the temerity to allow themselves to dream.
