Careless, casual and lacking composure: Swindon Town's worst side comes out in draw with Grimsby

ANALYSIS: While Swindon took the full 12-bore to their own toes for the second goal, with a series of unfathomably poor split-second decisions, the prelude to penalty should not be the defining feature of any analysis. Because this was a team performance. A poor team performance.

Ian Holloway, banished to the back of the Arkell’s Stand to serve a one-match touchline ban, was fuming as he made his way towards the dressing room at half-time.

“And they think they’re top of the league,” he hissed, very much not under his breath and within earshot of dozens of supporters, in a candid assessment of his team’s performance.

His players were spared two minutes of his wrath at the break, as their manager made an accidental detour into the Arkell’s concourse, presumably not in search of a slightly dry foot-long sausage roll.
