When Will Wright found the back of the net with a free-kick on the cusp of half-time against Cheltenham Town, it was immediately evident that his celebration carried particular poignancy.

The centre-back lost his mother during the week, and he was visibly emotional as he ran towards the Swindon Town bench to be mobbed by his teammates.

The scenes were the latest illustration of the clear sense of togetherness that has wedded this squad since the arrival of Ian Holloway in October.
