The Ollie Palmer conundrum: Are Swindon Town more of an attacking threat with or without marquee signing?

ANALYSIS: If Town are going to be effective with Palmer up front, they need to give him the best possible chance of scoring. If there are limited outlets available to create those chances, Holloway must surely be thinking about shifting the team dynamic.

Ian Holloway has a considerable selection decision ahead of him this weekend. And not because he is necessarily missing key players.

The makeup of Swindon Town’s frontline remains a subject of particular focus among the fanbase.

Ollie Palmer has scored eight goals for Town since arriving in the summer, at a rate of one every three appearances and one every two-and-a-half games.

That is a perfectly satisfactory return, especially when the division’s top goalscorer is in the same squad. But is a forward unit containing both Palmer and Aaron Drinan the most effective use of Holloway’s many attacking options?
