January 31, 2013 was a Thursday.
Swindon Town was in a state of flux and confusion, rocked by Andrew Black’s decision days earlier to stop funding the club.
On January 4, Black informed the senior management that he was pulling his cash. It left a considerable hole in Town’s finances.
Players had been listed on the open market, en masse, in a quasi firesale designed to raise enough money to get the business through until the following month.
