Looking at the League Two tables of today and a year ago, it seems somewhat pedantic to pick faults in a Swindon Town side that sits second.
The Christmas trees are up and Swindon are firmly lodged in the promotion hunt. There is the potential for this season to provide rare cheer for an under-cheered fanbase.
There is the promise of substance, actual substance, at a football club that has run on ‘what ifs’, ‘maybes’ and ‘oh nos’ for far too long.
But, despite the league position, and an unbeaten run now five games long, there is a nagging discomfort about where Swindon find themselves going into the busy festive period.
