It was Ian Holloway’s knowledge of footwear inserts which helped Ollie Clarke finally overcome the nagging injury that plagued most of his first season at Swindon Town.

Clarke spent much of the campaign becoming more and more frustrated by a calf issue, the origin of which was a complete mystery.

But one conversation with Holloway uncovered both the source and a solution.

“I thought it was probably just down to my age,” Clarke tells The Moonraker. “But it turns out I had some insoles made, and they were causing me problems. And he was like, ‘I had this problem’.”
