The Moonraker asked Chat GPT to build Swindon's selection, systems and structure

I asked Chat GPT to become Swindon Town coach for the festive fixtures: Ian Holloway's job is not under threat just yet!

Prompted to provide a detailed overview of how Swindon should address the festive period, focusing on systems, personnel, formation and strategy, our artificial tactician dealt up more than its fair share of curveballs.

As happens from time to time at an Ian Holloway press conference, Thursday’s session steered towards the surreal.

Amid the chat about form and formations came a characteristic detour into Holloway’s lingering subconscious, and one of his pet irks: artificial intelligence.

“Just ask Chat GPT how to speak as a coach these days, and it'll tell you. I'm serious, ask Chat GPT,” he said, before going on to highlight Google chief executive Sundar Pichai’s recent admission that it would be daft to blindly follow everything AI spits out at us.

So, purely in the interests of good journalism (what else?!), The Moonraker has ignored the world-leading tech magnate and instead followed Holloway’s instructions to the letter.
