Twenty years ago today, a 16-year-old striker called Andy Caton bundled home a consolation goal against Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground.
A combative and quick centre-forward, Caton promised plenty. He was the second youngest goalscorer for Swindon Town in the post-war era, after Paul Rideout.
Fast forward two decades, however, and life has taken a slightly different path. Not that he minds.
Now happily married and a father of two, his priorities shifted dramatically in 2006 when he suffered a fractured skull and significant psychological trauma following a car accident.
