When Saidou Khan joined Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day, it marked a notable milestone.

Khan was the final player signed by Swindon Town in the summer of 2022 to leave the club. While his move to the Wirral is technically temporary, it is generally considered the midfielder has played his last match for the Robins.

The Gambian was one of 15 first-teamers brought to Town by then-technical director Sandro Di Michele during that window two years ago. None remain in the Swindon squad.

Di Michele was appointed on June 6, 2022. Less than 11 months later, he was out of a job, having become the focus of considerable supporters’ criticism as the Robins’ season tailed off following Scott Lindsey’s switch to Crawley.
