A big voice, an eye for a pass and an improvement in the air: What Swindon Town fans can expect from Connor Ripley

SCOUTING REPORT: No League Two goalkeeper has better long-ball accuracy than Ripley's 47.6 per cent this season. This is a particularly useful asset given Swindon’s success going direct to Harry Smith.

Swindon Town have a new senior goalkeeper, so… what will Connor Ripley bring to Ian Holloway’s squad?

Ripley has been signed on a short-term contact until the end of the season, with his previous deal at Vale cancelled before he signed for Swindon. As such, he will be playing for his longer-term future at the County Ground.

There is uncertainty over his departure from Vale Park, with speculation in the Potteries suggesting a disagreement took place between the goalkeeper and Valiants head coach Darren Moore towards the end of last year.

Ripley last featured for his old club in a 3-0 defeat at Grimsby Town on December 29. He subsequently went on paternity leave following the birth of his fifth child, and had not returned to full training prior to his departure.
