To AB or not to AB? Is there a future for the Swindon Town Advisory Board... or is it no longer fit for purpose?

To AB or not to AB, that is the question.

In 2021, the idea of fan groups and club officials meeting regularly to form a unified plan for the future improvement of Swindon Town Football Club was a universally popular initiative.

After years of negligent ownership, and long stretches during which supporters felt largely abandoned by the boardroom, this was an opportunity to not only get a peek behind the curtain, but to help put together the production.

Fast forward four years, however, and the Advisory Board is under constant bombardment, with criticism of its makeup and transparency commonplace. There is a growing weight of opinion that the concept itself has gone past its use-by date.
