In the category of ‘great Swindon Town images’, there are a handful of obvious entries.

The iconic Wembley celebrations of 1969, 1990 and 1993. Paolo Di Canio’s new-year dart to the away end at Sixfields. Jan Aage Fjortoft’s aeroplane. Simon Ferry in his pants. And, of course, Nathan Thompson.

It is 10 years ago today (November 15, 2014) that Thompson bounced up and down in front of 1,000 frothing Bristol City fans on the Stratton Bank, rubbing their noses in a 1-0 defeat that kept Swindon on course for promotion from League One.
