So it has finally happened.
Tom Nichols appears to have been constantly linked with Swindon Town over recent years.
He spent time on trial at the County Ground five seasons ago, has been on the club's recruitment radar in each of the past two years, he was the subject of Robins interest way back in 2016, and a deal for his services was very close to completion 12 months ago.
